Step by step
Each step carries a mark. A reported mark with one source means only one guide has said it so far.
1. Ride the carriage
The quest starts with you aboard a moving carriage. One guide has Old Man Gen driving toward Pangzhen and talking about the plague there; another frames Soul as a fugitive the Order wants dead. Reported· Game8
2. Beat the two attackers
Two enemies come at you while the carriage moves. Neither guide names them or describes their moves. Clearing them is what brings out the boss. Reported· Game8
Treat it as a warm-up for the parry and dodge habits from the combat guide: blue flashes are parries, red flashes are dodges.
We have no source yet on forks, extra enemies or pickups on this stretch. After unlock· PowerPyx
3. Fight The Hunt
The boss is The Hunt, Hunter of the Order. Win and the scene ends with Soul falling off a cliff into Weeping Creek Valley. Reported· Game8
Attack patterns, phases and counters are on the Hunt boss page.
This is the first of two Hunt fights. You meet him again as the boss at the Great Waterfall in Steel and Steam, where the Chain Sickle is the reward. Reported· Game8
The valley guides say beating The Hunt at the Great Waterfall (the second fight) gives the Hunter's Chain Sickle Phantom Edge, which is needed later to reach the Sha-Chi Tower key. Reported· PowerPyx
4. The scene after the fall
Story beat after the fight · show
The game jumps back one day. The Flesh Sculptor tells Soul about a heart in Pangzhen that can raise the dead and asks him to fetch it, offering to stretch Soul's life past the 66-day limit in return. Reported· Game8
Rewards and what follows

Quest reward
Game8 lists no quest rewards and no Perfect Transcensions for Reckless Pursuit.
Defeating The Hunt is reported to grant the Hunter's Chain Sickle Phantom Edge, which later lets you reach the Sha-Chi Tower Base Camp Gate Key at the tower summit.
After the prologue, the first regular boss in Weeping Creek Valley is reported to be Jagged Steel, the Frenzied Brute; its Rustblade Pavilion bell sits next to the arena.
The valley itself opens up after the fall. Early bosses there include Axemaster Peng Meng, who is not part of this quest. For bells, tales and pickups see the collectibles page.
