What he does

He swings a giant axe. One preview says it reaches a long way, and another says a single hit can be lethal but his movements are very slow. PC Gamer adds that this is where you first meet stamina-draining attacks, marked by a smoky black aura around the boss.

How to beat Peng Meng

• Spend the opening on perfect dodges (red marks) and parries (blue marks) to drain his Sha-Chi quickly, then start your combos. GameRant calls the fight relatively simple on this plan.
• When he gives off the smoky black aura, dodge instead of blocking. PC Gamer says blocking those attacks costs you Sha-Chi.
• Normal attacks do not use stamina but still chip his Sha-Chi, so stay aggressive between his swings (PC Gamer).
• His axe is slow and heavy: a preview's advice is to combo boldly, then dodge carefully rather than trade hits.
• There is no weapon pick from the sources. Use whichever weapon you are comfortable parrying with; the Dread Axe comes from beating him.
