Phantom Blade Zero skill tree and abilities
There is no level-up screen. Soul's abilities are bought at any Bell in a Train Abilities menu with Remnant Dust, and most nodes also need collectibles. Reported· Fextralife Phantom Blade Zero Wiki Launch-day guides disagree on some details, so each line below names its source and status.

Where
Abilities are trained from a Train Abilities menu that opens at any Bell. Each one costs Remnant Dust to switch on, and a reset hands the Remnant Dust back, so a pick is not permanent.
Collectibles gate the tree. Fextralife says abilities unlock alongside attributes by collecting Blackstones, Sha-Chi Ambers and other items, and PowerPyx names the same three (Sha-Chi Amber, Blackstones, Memory Flowers) as what opens new skills. Whole Blackstones are the requirement for the more advanced nodes.
The tree is laid out in three rows, each tied to one collectible: Blackstone for attack nodes, Sha-Chi Amber for energy nodes and Memory Flowers for health nodes. GameSpot says the rows open in order from left to right.
Some nodes also need a Banyan's Heart, which you earn from a Banyan tree combat trial. GameSpot adds that a few can be bought from the merchant Quick Hand Zhang. The fan database lists Focused Mind and Keen Edge as needing one.
Fextralife says whole Blackstones also work as a training requirement in the Abilities tree: its examples are Masterful Flow Lv. 1 (one Blackstone) and Redirect Force (two).
None of this is in S-GAME's own store text yet, so nothing here is confirmed. The layout comes from two sources and we have not checked it in a play session.
What do the collectibles do for the tree?
The same three collectibles that raise your stats also feed the tree. Reported· PC Gamer Find them with the Blackstone Fragment, Sha-Chi Amber Fragment and Memory Flower location pages; Memory Flowers also raise max HP. Reported· PowerPyx
Conflict · Banyan's Heart
How many Banyan's Hearts are there?
Sources count the Banyan's Heart supply differently: PowerPyx tells you to finish 5 Banyan Tree challenges, Game Informer's wording implies 6 Human-Faced Banyan trials, and GameSpot says there are 8 Hearts in total, some of them for sale.
PowerPyx Phantom Blade Zero Trophy Guide & Roadmap Counts challenge locations for a trophy.
Game Informer, 28 Oct 2026 Phantom Blade Tips And Tricks For New Players We Wish We Knew Before Starting Implies six trials.
GameSpot How To Unlock Skills In Phantom Blade Zero Says eight Hearts exist, one per connected node. GameSpot's page returned 403 to our fetcher; the quote is from a search-result excerpt of the article, not a direct read.
How we handle it: These may be counting different things (trials, trophy locations, Hearts including purchases). We give no number until someone counts them in the game.

What should I unlock first?
There is no shared first-pick list yet. GamesRadar recommends Boundless Capacity early for the extra accessory slot. The fan database instead says to train the free Fluid Form first, then Healing Art and Steady Composure at 5,000 Remnant Dust each. Reported· GamesRadar
Boundless Capacity is the ability that adds accessory slots. GamesRadar puts its first level second in the top row at 10,000 Remnant Dust, giving a third slot, with more levels elsewhere in the tree up to six slots in total. Reported· GamesRadar
Slots are covered on our accessories page and the upgrades page: you start with fewer and can grow to six. Reported· Fextralife Phantom Blade Zero Wiki
Is this the same as weapon upgrades?
No. Weapons and Phantom Edges gain their own abilities as they level, roughly every five levels. Reported· Fextralife Phantom Blade Zero Wiki That system, Soul Tempering and the weapon refund disputeConflict· Fextralife Phantom Blade Zero Wiki are covered on the upgrades page. Everything above is the character-wide tree.

Questions
Where do I train abilities in Phantom Blade Zero?
Open any Bell and choose Train Abilities. Fextralife and GameSpot both describe the menu, and each ability costs Remnant Dust to switch on.
Yes. Fextralife says a reset refunds the Remnant Dust, and a fan database says the rows can be reset and reinvested at any time. We have not yet tested whether a reset costs anything else.
What do I need to unlock abilities besides Remnant Dust?
Collectibles: Blackstone, Sha-Chi Amber and Memory Flowers, plus a Banyan's Heart for some linked nodes. Fextralife, PowerPyx and Game Informer agree on these.
Guides do not agree yet. GamesRadar likes Boundless Capacity for the extra accessory slot; one fan database starts with the free Fluid Form, then Healing Art and Steady Composure.
