Accessories come in three types, Offensive, Defensive and Support. They are passive: you equip them in the Accessories section of the equipment menu and they change numbers or rules, rather than adding moves like a weapon or Phantom Edge does.

Adding slots
Boundless Capacity is the ability that adds accessory slots. GamesRadar puts its first level second in the top row at 10,000 Remnant Dust, giving a third slot, with more levels elsewhere in the tree up to six slots in total.

Where they come from
Accessories are mostly pickups: chests and rewards in every region PowerPyx has covered so far. Game Informer adds that a coin-jingling treasure collector rewards finding three treasures per region with an accessory or another prize. A Steam achievement asks for 30 accessories.

Upgrading
Jewel's shop on the cliffside in the Village of Lu is where accessories are upgraded. GameSpot says most top out at level 2 using a Tainted Crystal Shard, and a few reach level 3 using a Refined Indigo Crystal.

Weapon and Phantom Edge levels, Remnant Dust costs and Soul Tempering are on the upgrades page; the ability tree that holds Boundless Capacity is on skill tree and abilities. A Steam achievement asks you to collect 30 accessories, so you will not wear most of them.

Counterstrike Bracers: Game8 says they only come from beating Gold Mask, and PowerPyx puts them in the tower by the Weeping Creek Long Pillar Bell, paired with that Long Pillar challenge.
