How to get the Hunter's Chain Sickle
Defeat The Hunt in Weeping Creek Valley and the sickle is your reward. Three outlets agree on the boss and the region. Reported · PowerPyx
- How to get it
- The Hunter's Chain Sickle is the reward for defeating The Hunt in Weeping Creek Valley. PowerPyx calls it story-related; Game8 lists the boss as 'The Hunt (2nd Encounter)' in that region; Game Informer lists it under Weeping Creek Valley as the reward for The Hunt.
- Reported · PowerPyx
- Weapon or Phantom Edge?
- Most sources class it as a Phantom Edge: PowerPyx files it as Phantom Edge #40 and Game8's early loadout lists it with the Phantom Edges.
- Reported · PowerPyx
- What it unlocks
- Once you have it, it can grapple to distant anchor points even when it is not equipped. PowerPyx uses it to reach a chest platform near The Beginning Bell and to climb the Valley Sha-Chi Tower Summit for the Sha-Chi Tower Base Camp Gate Key; Game Informer likewise says it reaches an area that unlocks a key.
- Reported · PowerPyx
- Its moves
- Game8 lists its skills as Grappling Traverse, Shadow Bound (after a combo, pull the locked-on enemy to you), Chain-Sickle Traverse (R2 while dodging or sprinting to vault to a wall or the ground), Coiling Chain (L1 + R2 to pull the locked-on enemy; large enemies pull you instead) and Relentless Pursuit Lv. 1 (a small damage boost against burning, frozen, paralyzed, poisoned or bleeding enemies).

Getting it
PowerPyx lists The Hunt as a required boss at the end of Weeping Creek Valley, so the sickle sits on the main path. We have a boss guide for The Hunt. It is the second time you fight him: the first fight, on the carriage, ends Reckless Pursuit, and Game8 labels the waterfall fight as the second encounter. Reported · PowerPyx
Using it
Grappling works even when the sickle is not equipped. That is how guides reach the Sha-Chi Tower Base Camp Gate Key, and it is why PowerPyx lists it as story-related: expect to come back for chests you could not reach before. Reported · PowerPyx
In combat, Game8 recommends pairing it with Jagged Steel, since the sickle adds damage against bleeding enemies, and suggests upgrading it to Level 5 early. Our best weapons and combos page lists who recommends what. Reported · Game8
