Xie Qiudong, The Divine Healer: boss guide

Xie Qiudong is a story boss in Pangzhen, found past the well after Gu Wanyue. He sits above the arena and heals the enemies around him, so the fight is about handling those enemies, not his own attacks. TheGamer, PCGamesN and Gamersky all describe it that way, but they disagree on which enemies to kill first, so read the order below as a choice, not a rule. Reported · PowerPyx

TheGamer, PCGamesN and PowerPyx name him Xie Qiudong, The Divine Healer. The Chinese guide we cross-checked, from Gamersky, calls him 神医-谢秋冬. We matched the two by name, title, the healer mechanic and the place, and found no official English-Chinese pairing. Game8's boss table does not list him. Reported · PowerPyx

Where to find the fight
Pangzhen, after Gu Wanyue. PowerPyx puts the fight beyond the Well of Wei Sanchuan Bell and the Green Serpent House bell just past the arena. Gamersky's route: after beating Gu Wanyue, jump into the well, climb the ladder to the room at the end, cross the planks on the left to a higher level, light the bell at the bottom of the well, then take the stairs up and outside to start the fight (our translation of its bell name).

How the fight goes

The healer and the red strings

PCGamesN says healer characters can heal any enemy connected to them by a red thread, and that Xie Qiudong is the first fight to teach this. TheGamer says six enemies around the arena are held by red strings while he heals them from above: three in front of you as you enter, one on a roof to the left and two behind you near the stairwell. Gamersky says he can also recover health by attacking you, and that when he heals the minions he loses health himself.

TheGamer's order: bound enemies, then lure the rest

TheGamer says to ignore the enemies that are attacking you and defeat the six drained ones first, in any order, dodging as you go. Xie then drops to the ground. Do not fight him yet: lead the remaining enemies across the stairwell, well away from him, and fight them there. They are still healed, but now he pays for it with his own health. Keep fighting until he has none left to give, then finish him with a finisher.

Gamersky's order: free enemies first

Gamersky says the opposite way round. Ignore Xie and the bound minions at the start, fight the enemies that can move freely, and let him lose health whenever he heals. When most of the free enemies are gone he is nearly out of health and you only need to finish him. It warns that attacking the bound minions first gets you surrounded by him and the minions together.

PCGamesN's shortcut

PCGamesN agrees you should kill the enemies connected to him at the start, but then says there is no point chasing the others because he heals them: attack the boss whenever you can, to cut down the time you waste. It also says that when he lifts one arm and pauses, a red attack is coming. These are the outlets' own impressions, not tested results; the three do not fully agree on the order.
