Mu Xiaokui, Young Mistress of the Order: boss guide
Mu Xiaokui is a required boss at the end of the Village of Lu, a fast swordswoman who chains Sha-Chi draining attacks into follow-ups. Side content can add a third phase against her two bodyguards; guides disagree on whether the trigger is the Young Mistress questline or collecting all five ribbons. Her move list comes from one guide so far, so treat the details as a starting point. Reported · Game8

How the fight goes
Phases one and two
GameSpot says you fight Xiaokui herself in two phases. Game8 says she opens with two jumps and a pair of spinning sword throws, vanishes, then blinks back with a dodgeable projectile attack. In the second phase she adds an uninterruptible dash sequence that Game8 says can take a large chunk of your health.
Her habits
Game8 says she leans on Sha-Chi draining attacks, such as a thrust that leads into sword flurries and a spinning throw, or a lunge followed by two ranged slashes. She also leaps high for a drain attack and follows with a thrust, and she tears purple rifts that shatter like glass and release martial-arts holograms that attack.
Secret third phase
Beat her second phase and the fight moves on to Iron Fiend and Jade Dancer, her bodyguards, as a duo fight (Game8, GameSpot). Game8 says this phase needs the Young Mistress questline. GameSpot says you must interact with all five of her ribbons in the Village of Lu to unlock the extra phase. We have not confirmed whether those are the same thing.
How to beat Mu Xiaokui
- After the opening jumps and sword throws, expect her to blink back. Game8 says to block the two ranged slashes, then dodge the projectile that follows. A perfect dodge there opens a long window and can stagger her heavily.
- Play defensively after any Sha-Chi draining attack. Dodge, or hold block, until a glint shows that the follow-up is over, then strike (Game8).
- When she leaps high, anticipate the thrust that follows and perfect dodge it, because Game8 warns it can be lethal.
- In the second phase, watch for a swift dash with a red glint and perfect dodge it so you are not caught in the full sequence (Game8).
- Keep an eye on the floor for purple rifts and dodge the holograms when they come out (Game8).
- Pick up the Wild Oriole Sword from the dock before you leave the area (PowerPyx, GameSpot).
