How the fight goes

Phase one: the troupe

You are not alone with him. His followers attack in coordinated waves and keep coming, so you have to deal with their pressure while you work towards the boss. One report adds that the followers can heal him at the cost of their own health.

Phase two: the marionette

Around half health the fight changes. He moves erratically and takes to the air as a marionette-like figure that only touches the ground briefly. That short grounded moment is the window for a heavy punish. Trailer coverage describes the remaining followers on high ground, attaching red threads to him.

How to beat Chief Disciple

• Take phase one in two parts: handle the followers' coordinated waves first, then press the boss. Blue-marked attacks are parry targets and red-marked ones are dodges.
• Save heavy punishes for the moments he touches the ground in phase two; the reports stress precise counterattacks there rather than long combos.
• If you die in phase two you should restart at the start of phase two, not the whole fight.
