Steam's achievement "Three Wardens Fall" lists Cavalrybane in a group with Soulclaimer and Heartpiercer. Game8 titles his page "Cavalrybane, Elite Shadow Warden". The Chinese guide we cross-checked, from Gamersky, calls this Shadow Warden expert 斩骑. We matched the two by title, place and fight, and found no official English-Chinese pairing. Reported · Game8

Spear attacks

Game8 says his most common opener is a forward tumble followed by a two-hit spear attack that ends in a dodgeable strike. Dodging it triggers a cinematic counter that drains a large part of his stagger bar. It also describes a run of continuous thrusts that ends in an attack that drains Sha-Chi, and a pattern that begins with quick backward steps, then two upward spear slashes, then either a Sha-Chi draining attack with a parryable hit or the tumble again. Gamersky singles out one move, a spear charge, and says tapping block avoids all damage from it.

How hard it is

Gamersky rates this fight as low difficulty and says the spear charge is the only thing to watch. Game8 gives no rating. That is one outlet's judgment, not a tested result.

How to beat Cavalrybane

• Block his spear thrusts. Both guides point to blocking: Game8 says to block the continuous thrusts, Gamersky says a tap of block avoids the charge.
• At the end of the thrust string, be ready to dodge. Game8 says the last hit drains Sha-Chi and must be dodged, not blocked.
• Dodge the forward tumble attack for the cinematic counter. Game8 says it appears all through the fight and a clean dodge removes much of his stagger bar.
• When he walks backward in quick steps, expect two upward slashes and wait for the glint before choosing between dodge and parry (Game8).
• If his stagger bar is low while you hold block, you can stagger him and fit in extra hits (Game8).
