Blaze, Shadow Warden Captain: boss guide
Blaze is the Shadow Warden captain, a fire fighter who whirls chains with burning weights in Pangzhen. Both guides we use say his second phase is far more dangerous, and that grabs with a red glint can kill you. The details come from two guides, so treat them as a starting point. Reported · Game8
Game8 titles the page "Blaze" and calls him captain of the Shadow Wardens, and our Phantom Edge list uses the same "Blaze, Shadow Warden Captain". Steam does not name him. The Chinese guide we cross-checked, from Gamersky, calls the Shadow Warden captain 火流星 (literally "Fire Meteor", also the English name of his Phantom Edge). We matched them by title, place and reward, and found no official English-Chinese pairing. Reported · Game8

How the fight goes
Phase one: chains and fire
Game8 says he whirls his chains sideways into a six-hit string that ends in a dodgeable leap with a burning spiked weight; holding block through the chains and dodging the leap gives a cinematic counter that staggers him heavily. It also describes loops of chain on each side that end in a fiery ground smash, which is lethal because of burn. Gamersky agrees he fights at middle and long range with chains and says his attacks are slow, so precise parries are a good way to wear down his Sha-Chi. It adds that his red-glint grabs only come at the end of a combo and that it saw no blue-glint attacks from him.
Helpers join in
Both guides have extra enemies arrive. Game8 says Blaze summons two of them and that you can attack one until the instant-kill prompt appears, which removes both whatever the other's health. Gamersky says Shadow Warden soldiers join when about a third of his health is gone, and that beating them only buys a short window to hit him before more come. The two accounts may describe the same moment.
Phase two: more fire, deadly grabs
Game8 says he gets more aggressive with burn attacks. After a fiery breath he leaps back and lunges for a one-hit grab that starts an uninterruptible sequence and is lethal. He also spins his chains overhead to make a ring of fire that follows you and slams down after a delay, and bending back to smash his head on the ground leaves fire patches that erupt after. Gamersky says the second phase makes him frenzied and that any red-glint grab then kills you in one combo unless you are at full health.
How to beat Blaze
- Equip the Flameward accessory first. Game8 says it cuts fire damage and Burn build-up by 50 percent, and it matters most in phase two. Gamersky also advises a fire-ward charm for this fight and does not give a number.
- Hold block through the sideways chain string and dodge the final leap to get the cinematic counter (Game8).
- Use precise parries in phase one to wear down his Sha-Chi (Gamersky); his chains are slow, so there is time to read them.
- Dodge, do not try to parry, the red-glint grabs in phase two. Both guides agree they are the main way to die; Game8 says to dodge as he lunges after the fiery breath, Gamersky says to focus on dodging as soon as the red glint appears.
- When helpers appear, either take one down for the instant-kill prompt or ignore them if Blaze is nearly empty (Game8). Gamersky treats them as a short window to attack and says more will come.
- Jump over the ring of fire when it slams down, and step away from the fire patches that form after the head smash (Game8).
