How the fight goes

The portal attacks

Game8 says she retreats into a portal and comes out in one of three places. From your right she kicks as she exits, so block at once. From your left she swings horizontally, and from in front she slashes overhead; in both cases delay your block to match the swing.

Sha-Chi drain and the 50% change

Both guides say she mixes in Sha-Chi draining attacks. PC Gamer says to dodge her smoky black attacks, since blocking them empties your stamina, and says she has few red or blue attacks. Game8 says at 50% health she adds a Killer Move that only a dodge avoids: two quick upward slashes, two delayed slashes with a drain in the middle, then a rush of forward slashes ending in an overhead slash.

How to beat Three-Faced Puppet

• Come back later. PC Gamer says there is no rush, and Pangzhen is a good time because you will have upgrades and polished accessories.
• Bring a Sha-Chi restoring medicine such as the Vessel Restorative, because her drain attacks come in the middle of combos (Game8).
• Puppets resist bleed, but PC Gamer says the Livingwood Talisman, from a chest near the Smuggler's Tunnel in the Village of Lu, gives bleed at 70% effect with a weapon like Jagged Steel.
• Keep attacking between her moves. Normal attacks cost no stamina and still wear down her Sha-Chi, and Sha-Chi combos are for when it breaks (PC Gamer).
• For the 50% health combo, dodge as she jumps at the end of the forward rush to trigger Ghoststep (Game8).
